Capitol Theatre Production Center

Location: Yakima, Washington

Description: A 26,230 SF addition to the existing Capitol Theatre consisting of a 7,610 SF Basement for storage and M/E equipment; a 9,310 SF Main Floor providing stage production support facilities, including new dressing and restrooms facilities for the performers; and a 9,310 SF second Floor Black Box Theatre with movable seating for up to 499 people and adjacent restrooms. The Second Floor also included a 2,800 SF outdoor Terrace to accommodate up to 150 people. The original Capitol Theatre was built in 1927 and then restored after the 1977 fire. The building seats up to 1,500 people for theatrical performances and is the cultural focal point of downtown Yakima.

WCG Scope: LEED Fundamental and Enhanced Commissioning services to include OPR, BOD and construction document reviews, commissioning specifications development, submittals review, commissioning plan development, commissioning meetings and site observations, verifying contractor start-up activities, installation verification, functional testing with back-checks, TAB verification, issues tracking, O&M manuals review, trending, training verification, project closeout activities, final commissioning report and systems manual development, and near warranty end review.
